I am new to the Organ Forum. Just acquired a 1963 vintage Baldwin Orgasonic 54A. This instrument also has the percussion drawer mounted under right side of lower manual. The instrument needs some work and a lot of cleanup. Is there a reliable source for the owner/service manual for this product? Thanks in advance...

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the 54A; though I haven't seen one in person, it looks to be an interesting hybrid, with transistor tone generation and processing, and tube amplification.
I haven't been able to find any sources of the actual manuals through search engines, so unless a forum member or a local organ tech has something, you may be out of luck on those. However, the circuitry of the 54A is described in considerable detail in Richard Dorf's book Electronic Musical Instruments, 3rd Edition (but not in earlier editions). It is not a perfect substitute for the service manual, as complete schematics are not given - only sections, which are described at length. In fact, the circuit descriptions are much more detailed than found in most service manuals. The only major omission is that of the amplifier circuits, which are not shown whatsoever, and described just as "vacuum-tube amplifiers [...] not worth while diagramming here."
This book is in my queue for scanning and uploading online for free download. So, if you can wait a few weeks (give or take), I should have it scanned and uploaded to my site.
In any case, everything should be fixable on that organ; nothing beats the serviceability of these 1960s (and earlier) 100% discrete designs. Good luck with your repairs!

To whomever it may concern, I have finally scanned the aforementioned book and uploaded it to my website. It can be downloaded from this page: http://crasno.ca/articles/docs.htm
