Back in the 1970's I bought a brand new Gulbransen Premiere Theatre organ from Alverson Piano Company in Atlanta, GA. I was told that the organ had come in but could not be delivered for a few days. After waiting patiently, I made a visit to the store and saw my new organ together with a theatre organ console that looked almost identical to my Gulbransen Premiere but I distinctly remember that it said "Seeburg" on the brass name plate. Now, I am very aware of the Gulbransen-Seeburg merger, but I have not been able to turn anything up on any full size 25-note pedal consoles manufactured using the Seeburg name. Am I just confused, or do we have something that anyone can shed some light on out there in Gulbransenland? Many thanks for any input!

Re: Seeburg Theatre Organ
I do remember seeing a Seeburg console organ with 25 pedals a good number of years ago while in OKC, OK. This organ was in a large conference room where some kind of meetings were held at the Aero Space Museum. This organ definately had the Seeburg nameplate on it, but it was not a theater model. I didn't get to play on this organ or hear it. I also remember a piano teacher in town told one of her students that her organ was a Seeburg, and for her to tell me, the church organist, that I was welcome to come by and check out the Seeburg sometime. I remember the girl said that the Seeburg was a large as our church organ which was a console Hammond C3. I never did check out the Seeburg, and it is a wonder since I was always interested in the various brands.

I know that Gulbransen rhythm units were designed by Seeburg who also was into making Juke Boxes at that time. I am unaware of Gulbransen organs being rebadged as Seeburg organs. I also remember having a record of Floyd Cramer playing a Seeburg spinet organ. This organ sounded rather thin and hada stringy type of tone so it is doubtful that they were actually a Gulbransen. It was something I didn't like at all since I don't care for that stringy or buzzy type of Kazoo sound on any organ.

This is an interesting post, and I hope there is more response.
