• How about some help for a newbie. Lowery TS-88

Before my question let me just say that it nice to see a forum that is filled with extremely knowledgeable and friendly users.

I just got a Lowery TS-88 (which I think is also known as Tempest) but there was no power cord included. The organ was free and I was not going to raise a stink about this. I have played guitar for years and assumed that "rigging" something up would be easy. Not the case at all. I do not know how to explain the wires that are there except to say that at the end of the two "harnesses" the connectors look like a typical power tube (circular with pins) I can certainly post a pic if that would help. But what I am trying to find out is if there is a place (online) that some one might suggest to get the replacement or a way to re-wire what I have to make this work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joel.

I saved this link from some research the other day: http://www.pugetsoundorgan.com/ You may also want to google organ service corporation. Both are suppliers of vintage odds and ends.

I don't know too much about Lowrey but I've seen several posts about organs that disconnected at the back cover. I believe you'll find some tips on replacement in those threads. Glad to have you taking care of an orphan organ.

Thanks for the advice. I will try these searches. I noodled around on some other some what related threads but nothing was that close to my set up. Thanks again.

That type connector would NOT be used for a power cord.

They would likely connect to a power supply, possibly with amplifier, that MIGHT be missing... and it would have a power cord from it.

The only other use of those is often to connect to a Leslie speaker.

            Hi,

I played a Lowrey tempest for years in my small church and I have worked on it several times. We still have it in storage. Are you still interested in resolving the power cord problem or have you taken care of that yet? I would be happy to help if I can be of service.
