• Help: Wurli Centura bass prob

I am trying to get a Wurlitzer Centura Professional Mod 805 going and have everything "perfect" except the bass. This model has the25note pedalboard with the pedals activatingmagnetic reed switches. I do not have a schematic but am fairly decent with a multimeter and my old o'scope.

When I try any of F#,G,G#,A,or A#:the F# sounds. On either octave the lower F# sounds. It is notdependent of stop setting. Nice clean note, but the wrong note, consistently. All other notes are normal. I hope it is not too difficlult, I need a break. (All the reeds are good and work.)

Organ is clean as a whistle, inside and out. Butyou gotta like F# bass notes.[:(]

    Thanks, Roy

Many monophonic pedalboards have series wiring and it sounds like something is blocking the section between the F natural and B natural. Have you checked the switches for any physical problem?

Thanks for the reply I don't know what happened, but I thought I had included a sentence or two about what I had done so far. Wrong. I did check each of the switches with a multimeter and a separate magnet. All 25 of the reed switcheswork nicely and everything seems and looks quite normal in the pedal assembly. I fear that there may be a problem inside the console, and was hoping that someone might have a quick fix solution of the "oh yeah, that happens a lot on these organs, you need to replace xxx" variety. Any other ideas?? Roy

Did you clean any associated connectors? If they are good, one can only beginning tracing the signal back towards the boards. That could be a real chore without the schematic. Do you know if the Centura is manufactured by Hohner? Some of our international friends may have some insights into their technologies if that is the case.

I can not say that I did not miss any connectors. I will go through it thoroughly tomorrow and hope that I either missed one or didn't do a good enough job. Re Hohner,.. I havn't the foggiest idea. I'll post the results of a super duper deep clean. Roy
