• Hi from Turkey.

Hi. First, i want to say; sorry my bad English.. I hope understand... I'm from Turkey. I don't see church organ in my life. I can play piano long years. I want play Bach Organ Works but i havent pedals. I have two piano. Consol piyano and Yamaha Clavinova. I start build pedals for my clavinova at last month. I finished this. I take help from only Internet and videos.. I have a problem, i lift up my clavinova and according to organ stool. (organ stool is handmake, i make last week) I need some help to sit position and stool. I can playing pedals but piano keyboard is far to me, i close to keyboard, but i can't playing pedals. :) What is true measuring and sizesfor organ stool height, Pianist position is impossible for organ playing. I send some picture .

    AGO Standard Measurements

    Hello,

It appears you have undertaken quite a task. I hope I can answer your questions here.

The measurements of an organ largely follow the American Guild of Organists standards, developed by organbuilders in America. You can purchase those measurements in a pamphlet from the American Guild of Organists at:

    http://www.agohq.org/mm5/merchant.mv...tegory_Code=OI

Other than that source, I do not know where one can find the actual standards of measurement. However, I do have a brochure which gives the following measurements (some measurements I guessed based on the scale diagram I have):

Floor to top of organ bench: 26.25"

Bench depth: 14.75"

Back of pedals to the front of the lowest keyboard: Approximately 22" (I may be off a couple of inches).

From top of bench, vertically to the lowest keyboard: Approximately 4-6" (I may be off there as well).

The rear of the pedal board was 37" wide.

The front of the pedal board is approximately 51.5" wide.
[/list]

I do hope this helps. Welcome to the forum.

    Michael

I do hope that helps somewhat.

                    Re: AGO Standard Measurements

Amazing!!! In America, we have a saying, "Necessity is the mother of invention." You are living proof of that. It's also amazing how close you came to AGO standards without even knowing them. Great work! Michael

                      Re: AGO Standard Measurements

no more without knowing standarts.. Now i know true measurement. Some problems on legato playing. ( heel playing) I must change to pedals lenght or change pedal action depth (i mean, press to pedal depth) or most easy than this ways; i cut some piece to my foot with my jigsaw [8-|]

                        Re: AGO Standard Measurements

Someone give me idea to how is press my clavinova pedals without
pressing organ pedals? when i playing piano, i need a support to my
heel for can play piano pedals.

I improve clavinova and pedal combination for visual beauty. I will make a stop knobs, stop box for pedalboard and lights. I will connect some cable to electronic keyboard* of pedalboard. Keyboard have some little plastic buttons. Tone changes( 1, 2, 3, +), dual, etc.. I will connect this buttons to stop box, and complete visual works.

*this electronic keyboard haven't plastic body, keys etc.. only electronic parts and some buttons
