The mobile console, which has now been in use for a while, is an additional console to cater for the changing liturgical requirements, specifically where the choir is brought out to a position under the dome. The original console is back in our works where it is being refurbished and provided with the same new digital transmission system the mobile console already has. We hope to have the original console back in about four weeks from now.

Slightly more controversially perhaps, the Dome Tubas and Chorus Reeds are being replaced with new pipes. The Chorus Reeds were remodelled Tuba pipes and sounded too much like Tubas and the Tubas themselves would not respond to a slight brightening which they really needed. The old pipes are being preserved so that if somebody in the future decides replacing them was a mistake, the change can easily be reversed. The new stops should be installed during the first half of August.

That leaves just the West section to be done, but before that can be started, decisions need to be made regarding what might be changed in that section. It will not be removed, but may get moved slightly.

I'd do away with those mixtures in the dome. They have no relation to the rest of the organ.

cecil clutton wrote a review once and said the sound was severely classical

later quietly the mixtures in the dome were replaced

      as to the new reeds

add them to the southeast quarter gallery in the dome where the former diapason chorus by willis/lewis stood and leave the original material alone

Oh, right. Sesquialtera16, you are Roffensis in the Mander Organ Forum, then.

So how come you come across as intelligent and knowledgable with perfect spelling and punctuation in that forum and yet you don't use any punctuation and rude to me calling me a "deviant" in this one. Who are you, exactly?

As to the organ in St. Paul's, I am not sure if I trust your judgement because the last time you mentioned Mander Organs in this forum you were very rude about this firm unfairly and I suspect you have issues with them on a personal level.

          choirmaster

u said u r rude on ur first post under ur new screen name

so by ur own words then it is the pot calling the kettle....

          i am not roffensis

          i dont know roffensis

i said i agree with his sarcasm

if they want to add pipes go ahead

but father willis earned a name for himself far greater than mander and i defer to HIS judgement regarding what is best for HIS pipe organ at st paul

as to my private remark to u via pm it was intended as a private remark and not for u to go on the forum bellyaching

if the shoe fits then wear it

mander desecrates organs that r worthy of preservation

he especially dislikes willis III [willis III was a mean slavedriver to quote the branch manager from ireland who i knew and worked with in the nyc area]

if my spelling punctuation and other particulars r annoying then scroll past my posts

my posts are moderated so anything making it past the censorship is assumed to be minimally approved

they r moderated coz i am essentially mean and sarcastic

the organ world has not made me less so but more so
