Re: the house organ of all house organs
Barry is a dear friend of mine. He's been holding up on the announcement for quite a while, so he could finish up his house project. Maybe I can get him to chime in here and chat with all of us. He's a fun person to be around, loves attention from others, and he is a fantastic organist, and music director. Had the priviledge of hearing his Christmas program this past December....absolutely wonderful choir, and organ playing of highest musical caliber.

Wow. Thanks for sharing this.

Wonder if he ever had to call a plumber to "work on his pipes". I could just imagine the look on the persons face as he is shown the way to the kitchen sink. [:P]
That must be some house to contain that much sound!
virgil fox was anite owl

he would practice at riverside past 11pm

the swell side of the organ also contained the pedal 32 contrabass and bombarde

the union theo dorms are attached to that organ chamber and the walls do NOT prevent sound from traveling

it became a problem so that the authorities at riverside were discussing a way to make the organ unplayable after 10pm

what happens if the home owner with the pipe organ has some insomnia

hes doing widors toccata next sunday

maybe ill get up and run thru it

wonder if the nieghbors will hear it

just a joke

hahaha

Re: the house organ of all house organs
Wow...and I thought my dad having 19 ranks out in his revamped double garage was biting off more than he could chew...it wasn't!

I'm just curious as to how 200 ranks scattered throughout a house can sound while listening in the one room. Tuning itmust be a PITA! Good for him, though. I give him credit for tackling such a project.

Re: the house organ of all house organs
Ha! You don't. He's already bought two of everything. One for the house, and the other for the church organ.

Talked with him about chiming in here. He's busy at the moment, but will grace us with his company fairly soon.

You'll really like him...he's lots of fun to be around.

Re: the house organ of all house organs
That's great. I'd like tohear his take on the overall sound of his instrument. I, for one, am genuinely interested in what looks to be probably the world's largest residence pipe organ (correct me if I'm wrong).

I would imagine some of it has got to be somewhat overpowering (or barely audible)just because of where the ranks are placed in what looks like various rooms of his home! Questions like how expressive can the instrument be (or is it all selective registration) when scattered about, and if his neighbors are disturbed by its volume at full-organ, et al...should have interesting answers.
