    What is this stop?

I was looking at the stoplist of an organ in Wales that I may play this summer and it had a stop that was called corno dolce, so could someone please tell me what that is?
    Many Thanks

Dolcé means soft, and Corno generally means some sort of horn. Check this link to find the stop. It lists several possibilities for the stop in question: https://web.archive.org/web/20141208...rganstops.org/

    Hope that helps.

Could be a Dolce Cornet--a cornet made from Dolce pipes resulting in a soft cornet. The dolce is a soft, sweet sounding diapason stop, similar to a dulciana or gemhorn.

I wondered that, but when I went to the link I provided, it turns out a stop of that name really DOES exist. The spelling also makes me wonder if it is closer to a Horn than a Cornet. Then again, it is in an area of the UK which has its own unique language, so who knows?

There was a very nice guy in the Magle forum named Corno Dolce, but then I think he changed it.

Yes, I remember him. I am the administrator for that site. He last posted on the Magle forum in September 2014 and then moved to Russia. Haven't heard from him since 2014, sadly. Nice person all around.

Magle Forum is Piperdane's Forum for musicians, and also promotes his music (compositions, performances, etc.).

Thanks for the update, Piperdane. Please PM me if he ever reappears under some name, would you? BTW, where'd he move from to Russia?
