Re: Specification for my organ

For a modest 31 stop organ, my impression is thatViscount's very well balancedselection ofstops is about as good as it's going to get!

With most digital organs these days, it's not a major endeavourto change the original configuration to something that would personally be more appealing. Within that premise, I would highly recommend that you start out bygiving Viscount's original configuration a reasonable try. And after that, if there is some aspect of the configuration that you can't live with, then that's the obvious time to consider alternatives. But, forsure, don't blow off their well-considered configuration, before indulging in alternatives.

For the Pedaal: myinclination would be toleave the initial 16' Violon as is, to balance offthe stringy swell stops; otherwise you are going to be left with a gap on the pedaal. If you want to go with the 32'contra violon 32', I would preferto eliminate theRuispijp III as the least useful pedal stop for the exchange. ?? And as a fun consideration, you might trade the 4' Klaroen for a 32' Bombarde. [:$]

For the Hoofdwerk, you would probably achieve the best bang-for-your-buck by staying withthe Cornet V.If you wish to incorporate mutations, then I would figure that in order of importance and usefulness:2-2/3, 1-3/5 andthe very last on the list after others have been satisfied, would be a 1 1/3.If you happen to havean octave coupler on the Hoofdwerk, that can transform2-2/3 into a really useful articulate aspect of the configuration.
