    Blackpool (UK) Opera House Wurlitzer (SP)

    The last new Wurlitzer to come to the UK, It was designed by organist of the Empress Ballroom (wintergardens, blackpool), Horace Finch. It was "opened" on the 14th of July 1939 by Horace Finch(empress ballroom) and Reginald Dixon (tower ballroom). It is the only Wurlitzer in the UK to have a tibia plena, and the ONLY organ installed in a theatre in the uk (the others are all cinemas) and was said by the Wurlitzer company to be there best UK installation!

    The oldest Wurlitzer to survive in England is in the Congregational Church in Beer, Devon.
