    Wurlitzer RJ-12 Residence organ

The president of EMCATOS has a nice 7 rank Wurlitzer Residence RJ-7

For those of us who survived the Baroque Revival of the 50s-70s without developing a taste for planter box ranks, It is good to be reminded if just how rare a 2' or frctional stop was in the Hope-Jones/Ernest Skinner era. You don't list any couplers. Were there any?[*-)]</P>

No couplers or 2' stops on Wurlitzer RJ's. They mainly came with paper
rolls for entertaing the "rich" peoples homes. All the pipes (excluding
the vox humana) are smaller scale including the chests. The relays were
also made smaller and included no glass covers which is Wulitzers
trademark. All this was done to keep the cost down.

For example, the 16' tibia clausa CCC is the same scale as a 16'
Bourdon CCC on a regular theatre organ. The diapasons were 51 scale I
think instead of 44 scale. But, if you have someone with a talented
ear, they will sound like a downsized version of a theatre wurlitzer,
      which was the whole goal.

I owned one several years ago and loved it. Later it was sold to buy a 3m/12r theater instrument. Wish I had kept the RJ!
