Hi Al....looking at your stoplist, and assuming that you are going to have an expression chamber, with shutters, a seperate tremulant, etc....I don't see a Clarinet or a Saxophone. Both are very nice sounds to add to your ensemble. The Clarinet is very useful as a solo stop, the Saxophone adds lots of grit to the vox, strings, oboe. That's my suggestion.
The organ does have some pipe now but I was trying to get ideas for a better sound. The pipe is in a small chamber under expression control. Here's what is playing right now: Diapason, Viol, Celeste, Flute, Stop Diapason (small tibia), Vox, Oboe horn - I want to maybe convert into a real nasty posthorn and small clarinet (not yet installed). The Vox was poor until I got some help in regulating it and fixing an air leak in the trem line. It's Kilgen and actually sounds delightful, absolutely better than the Allen. This Clarinet is small scale and I just might put it outside for effect. I'm running at 4" pressure on a very compact mainchest. It's slightly over 24" wide for 6 ranks, obviously not including offsets. I need to tune it one of these days but it sounds pretty nice. The Viol and Celeste are wonderful, especially when combined with the Allen strings. I wish I could afford a Sax (both $ and space). Plus I don't want to get too involved right now as my medical issues are rather serious.</P>
