  • Trying to use Hauptwerk on Lowrey Aria Pro

Hi have a Lowrey Aria Pro which I cannot get Hauptwerk to recognise the keyboards to play the samples.

i have a midi wire going from the midi out port on organ into a midisport box into the in port. From here I go from the usb out port into the computer usb. The computer is finding the input as it chimes if you take out the usb lead from the computer or put it back in.

when I try to automatically find the manuals etc it doesn't recognise them.

    any ideas please?

I also have a Yamaha stagea and it all works fine on this

Do i need to run another midi cable from the out socket on the midisport to the in port on the organ also?

    look forward to your help

If you don't see Hauptwerk's MIDI status lights flash in the status bar at the bottom of the screen when you press keys, Hauptwerk is not seeing your MIDI messages.
If the status lights do flash with key presses, it's possible they are MIDI message type Hauptwerk doesn't recognize or they are otherwise malformed.

You can open the large Audio, Midi, & Performance control panel from the menu: View/Large Floating Control Panels.../Audio, Midi, & Performance and view the activity on the MIDI channels for a clue.

Once your certain that your messages are reaching Hauptwerk you can see what messages are being sent by your Lowery by installing a a MIDI message monitor. MIDI-Ox is commonly used for Windows. There is a Mac counterpart, but I don't know the name of it.

Running a MIDI input to the organ is not necessary.
