Hi everyone, I have another hauptwerk question. Let's start with some background. I have two M-Audio BX8-D3's that I have setup with the default hauptwerk settings. I'd like to know if there's any way I can change the audio output in Hauptwerk V for a single stereo output channel to be configured as C/C# for added realism? I don't like the current audio balance given that the better half of the higher frequencies travel through the right channel. Any ideas on how I can rectify this issue if C/C# is not possible?

I'm not familiar with Hauptwerk V, but with 4.x note routing is set in each audio group: General Settings/Audio Output Groups. In the setup window, select the group (you should have only one) then choose C/C# from the output allocation within group drop down. I assume Hauptwerk V has a similar setting.
I have to wonder though why you're hearing the higher frequencies primarily in one channel. Perhaps that's the way the sample set was recorded. If this is true of all of the sample sets you own, I'd suspect a problem with one of your speakers.

C/C# is a multichannel strategy that requires at least two channels. With Hauptwerk those channels are stereo by default. After all that's how virtually all sample sets are recorded. One could do a pair of channels and use just one mono signal from each group, or left and right could be mixed to produce two channels where each carried every other note. It would be 100% better to use four speakers and have an honest C/C# setup using two stereo channels. I do 3 stereo channels which distributes the notes in a C/C#/D setup which is better for improving distortion between major thirds.
