Hi, I am trying to set up my Hauptwerk, using a Johannus Rembrandt 350 as my console with A Presonus 1824c as my Audio Interface an a pair of Genelec 40 watt and a pair of KRIK 45 Watt loudspeakers. I have watched several videos on u-tube trying to understand how to set up the hardware - but I am still unable to hear any sound. I can see that there is a midi connection between the Hauptwerk and the Rembrandt Console with the ssgreen light at the right bottom of the St Anne Mosly Organ - but that is it. How can I also hear the notes???

Welcome to the forum! There should be someone here who is familiar with the equipment that you have. I do not know about it myself. However, I have a VPO setup in my home, and found it fairly easy to make it work.
Since you see the green light flashing in St. Anne's you probably have MIDI data correctly flowing into the computer. Have you used Hauptwerk's auto-detect function to align the organ's MIDI channels with the program? If not, that might explain why there is no sound. Do you see the organ keys on the screen going up and down when you play keys on your console? If not, then the MIDI channels are not properly aligned. If the keys DO move when you play, the MIDI channels are correct, and your problem is more likely to be in the audio configuration.
Once you have the MIDI channels properly selected, you must also have the audio drivers correctly configured for your computer. I haven't had any trouble getting sound, so I can't advise you as to what might be wrong. Maybe someone on the forum will be able to help you.John

I think what he wants to do is to route the sounds to his interface and then to his amps and speakers. I haven't had to do that yet. Hi, OyKo, welcome to the forum. This version of HW is supposed to have simplified routing (it must have been awful before).-- I'm Lamar -- Allen TC-4 Classic -- 1899 Kimball, Rodgers W5000C, Conn 643, Hammond M3, L-102 - "Let no man belong to another who can belong to himself." Hello JBIRD and Silken Path.
And many thanks for answering mye plea for help. Yes, I can see the Organ Keys moving up and down when i press a key, So I maybe there is a fault in the connection between the Hauptwerk and the Audio Interface - but what? Does anyone know if there should be some kind of software Mixer between the Presonus and my speakers? Or maybe there is a missing audio driver? I have downloaded all drivers to my PC from Driver Easy, and I presume that would take care of all the driver Issues? I think I have tried everything, but without any help so far. So I hope...!

One more thing that I forgot to mention in my original posings:
I get this message when I start the St.AnneMosly-organ:"Could not create audio output buffers for ASIO driver ÀSIO Realtek ASIO`with buffer size of 1024 sample frames. Please try rebooting the Computer.
(Operating system message: ASE_invalide Mode, Code: -997 hex: FFFFFC1B)
Message code (for diagnostic purposes): 5148 (Sometimes it is 5151)
I have rebooted several times but the same message comes up.
I don`t understand this message, i tried to get an explanation from Hauptwerk who said it is related to the the Audio Interface - so I passed it on to Presonus, who just said it is not an issu related to them. Also - I am a complete novice in computing and thin gs related to setting up the Hauptwerk - sorry!

I don't think Hauptwerk will load an organ if drivers are missing. What version of Hauptwerk are you using? How many audio channels? What are the entries under General Settings/Audio Outputs...? Load organ using the Organ->Load Organ, adjusting rank/audio memory options.... What audio group have you assigned each of the ranks?

Realtek refers to your built in audio processor on your computer. Your computer is not seeing your external audio processor. How have you connected the external audio processor to your computer? If connected properly, Hauptwerk should see it and allow you to designate it as the device you want to use for audio.

I see that the qualified Hauptwerk users are now in the loop. They will steer you in the right direction. I tend to think that your audio interface is not being recognized by the computer, either due to a missing driver, or perhaps a faulty USB port or cable. Or, if the driver is working, perhaps Hauptwerk hasn't been configured to direct the output to that external device.
Yes, the message you are getting makes it seem that Hauptwerk is trying to use your on-board computer audio. You might try plugging some headphones into the computer's headphone jack and see if you hear anything. If so, then Hauptwerk is definitely configured to use that onboard sound system. You will have to change the setting in Hauptwerk that tells it which audio device to use. I am not a Hauptwerk expert, so I can't tell you where that is. But one of the users above can point it out to you.John

Well, many thanks to You all so far. I have discovered that my USB cable from my PC to the Audio Interface was not connected correctly. So I changed it and could suddenly hear a couple of notes - but then it fell silent again. But i think You are on to something there, I will try to find out what driver is beeing used on my Hauptwerk - wich by the way is Hauptwerk 5. As You all may understand, i am a complete novice in this area (hey, I even don`t understand musical Notes - so I just play if I know the tune. But I love the sound of a beautiful Organ!) Anyway - with all the help I am getting from You experianced People, I will get there. So Thanks for all Your help, understanding and patience! I am looking forward to really enjoy my Hauprwerk!

A quick way to see what audio is being used is, after bring up Haupwerk, minimize it and click on the speaker button at the bottom of your screen. If it shows your audio interface, you can increase the volume. If it shows you computer audio, your interface is not connected to your computer.
