  • Reasonable price range for M101 with Leslie 351?

Provided they're in very good condition as advertised, is $1100 too much for a M101 with a Leslie 351 already hooked up?

In southwestern U.S. , yes it is too much. maybe in other parts of the globe, where availability is an issue, that would be reasonable. There are many hammond consoles, spinets and leslies, waiting lonely in classified purgatory because owners are delusional in thinking that someone will talk their mercenary brother in law into driving with them 80 miles one way to pay the equivalent of a mortgage payment, or 3, to load these wonderful, yet heavy and unwieldy pieces of furniture, likely in a rental truck/trailer, to the fuel cost of 15 miles to the gallon, stop for bad roadside chow, because it is a day invested well past dinner time, which ends with unloading these beautiful works of musical engineering into a back bed room, which your wife has reticently agreed to let you stuff this gorgeous piece of musical history between her sewing table and the guest bed.

Yes, in southwestern U.S. that is too much.

Thank you for the reply, Thor! Suppose you intended to use these items for their intended purposes every day? JWhite1362

availability of the hammond/ leslie combo would be the deciding factor. I think every home should have a hammond organ & leslie; if they are rarely seen advertised in your area, then (gulp) yes buy it & explain to your child why they can't play football, learn to play a brass instrument, electric guitar or drum kit. The spinets are the best kept secrets of the the tonewheel line: lovely instruments with machined parts made from materials not used much anymore & assembled with the human touch. I am such an enthusiast. At this time, they are readily available throughout the U.S. because the generation that bought them are passing on to next of kin that either don't play or don't have passion for the indescribable mojo released into our mortal realm when a sympathetic human plays the hammond/leslie combo.

UP here in Vancouver a 251/351 would go for that. I love M-100s.
