Selling a Wurlitzer Model 44. Where do I start? Works perfectly. I have no idea how to get this in the right hands. I am in Tampa, FL

This is one of Wurlitzer's Electrostatic Reed organs from the 1950s. It may be working well, but components deteriorate with age and so if it hasn't been overhauled since new, it's probably due for a full service and restoration now. So you're really looking for a vintage organ enthusiast who will be willing and able to do the work themselves. And they would probably have to be fairly local to you as shipping costs can be horrendous.

In terms of true market value to the 'man in the street', it's zero when you consider that anyone just wanting a small organ can pick up one much newer and bigger for free or next to nothing - especially in FL, where there are thousands of them out there and probably hundreds available for those looking. But set against that, this is a little piece of organ history as there are not that many Wurlitzers of this type left and that does give it some value, but only to the buyers mentioned in my first paragraph.

So advertise locally in places like Craigslist, and place an ad in our classifieds section. Asking price? I'll leave that to you, but bear in mind what I've told you above. Ask too much and it will just sit there with no interest.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
