  • Wersi Atlantis SN3 Value?

    Hello again,
Got another Wersi value question, this time about an Atlantis SN3. This one has the Golden Gate option and comes with two Wersi speakers.

What would you guys say? Everything looks to be in good shape and seems to work ok.

Was this from the 80s? How is the reliability? Is it hard to service and are parts available? I know some 80s Wersis can supposedly be sketchy in that area.

Also, does anyone know if this is the organ Franz Lambert played on the BEGEGNUNGEN album? I noticed that was released in 1989.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Jon

Is anyone familiar with this at all? Kind of surprised nobody's chimed in, though I guess Wersi's are a bit obscure compared to some others.

Golden Gate came out around 1995 and gives the Atlantis (A 3 manual version of the Spectra) all the sounds and features of the Pegasus/Performer keyboards/organs from the 90s; however the Atlantis itself came out in the late 80s.
There are not that many Atlantis about so people will try and push for silly prices, but a factory built one with all the options should not cost more than about £1500 from a private buyer, even though they are rare.
Be aware that early ones came in kits that allowed the user to build it themselves (Wersi stopped making kits around 1990 as the new technology was too difficult to build without specialist equipment) and providing time was taken and the instructions were followed, would be as reliable as a factory built model, however make sure you have a look inside to see if everything is neat and tidy, (A good sign that care has been taken) and steer clear if it looks rough.
As far as I am aware the Album you mention was done on the Atlantis.

        Hi Bill,
Thanks for the helpful information. I forgot to ask, does anyone know the dimensions of this organ? I'm particularly curious about the console depth without the pedalboard. Trying to see if it would fit through my 29 3/4" door into the living room.

        Thanks!

          Hi Jon

Don’t know the actual dimensions as it’s an old instrument; however the top detaches from the base with 2 screws (Maybe 4) which means you can flip the top on its back and easily get it through the door. (Don’t forget to disconnect the cables in the back)

Just had another thought. Does anyone know if this organ has MIDI, and if so, how extensive it would be? Wondering if it could be used with Hauptwerk or GrandOrgue?

            Thanks!

Golden Gate should have General (GM) Midi as standard, (It was provided in the kit if you upgraded to Golden Gate) so providing you have a good computer you will be able to control Hauptwerk or GrandOrgue.

Does the Wersi Atlantis need to be programmed?
I have a Wersi Beta and one time I had to reprogram it because it lost most of the settings.

I understand there are batteries located on the circuit boards to keep the memory on the organ.
The batteries do need to be replaced at some point.
Anybody know anything about the batteries on the Wersi Atlantis?

Factory sounds/styles are stored in ROM/EPROM however user sounds use battery backup. (The number of batteries inside will depend on what options are fitted)
