  • Age, Value and Where to Sell a Lowrey TLO-K

My nephew purchased a house that came complete with a working organ! He lives in the Chicago area, too far from me to have him deliver it to my house (I took lessons on a Lowery when I was a teenager back in the early 70’s). ;)
He’s wondering how old it is, what the price was when new, what the value would be now and where to sell it. Anyone able to help me with information? Thank you!

    Age - very early 1970s.
Value - New? In the UK, around £1000 back then, so maybe around $1500 in the USA. Value now? Effectively zero, especially in that area. Lowrey were based in Chicago are there are thousands out there and usually plenty for sale at any one time with few takers. Try something like $50 if it really is in perfect order - just looking good doesn't count! If there's the slightest fault (quite likely given the age) then be prepared to give it away to someone who's prepared to spend some money fixing it up. Better and bigger organs have sadly ended up in the dumpster. The TLOK Holiday deserves better than that!
Where to sell? Local advertising like Craigslist or ebay.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
