  • Hammond M3 (1959?) and Leslie Model 125 Speaker

My dad has had this organ since I can remember, and got it from an elderly family member who was the original buyer. Per the oiling record under the seat, the earliest recorded maintenance was 1960, and he remembers her having gotten it when he was very young, so nearest we can guess is it's probably a 1959, purchased with the speaker.

The exterior is in very good shape, and it was oiled annually until we got it (I was very young when it came here...early 1990's), and start/ran reliably until this year (we usually started it up once a year and played around with it a little). We don't play it much so it's mostly just sitting. It won't quite get up to speed now this year, and he doesn't have time or interest to keep fiddling with it. The speaker works, but the bearings are getting a bit squeaky, with minor scuffs around the base.

Mom died a little over a year ago and Dad's in a downsizing mood...I'd like to see it get to someone who will value and take care of it. I was going to list it on Craigslist, but after doing a little research...decided maybe I should know a little more before listing it somewhere. Thoughts on value and on where to list it to get it into the right hands? It's a beautiful instrument.

    I'm in the Seattle area
