As to changing the presets, it's probably like other Rodgers models of that era -- the presets are locked until you enter the magic code. Hold SET and tap MEM2. It will start to flash. Let go of SET and tap piston #2. That should unlock it. If there is a MEM1 piston, and if Memory bank #1 is also locked, hold SET and tap MEM1, which will start to flash. Release SET and tap piston #1 to unlock the first memory.
The service manual, I think, tells how to totally disable this locking nonsense. Unless you disable it, the memories will be locked by default each time the organ powers up and you have to go through that procedure to be able to change the pistons.
