Paging Larrytow! I'm sure he'd be willing to drive that far to get a free Protégé!

Thanks for the heads up Michael ! But no, I'll leave that one for someone else who actually needs a practice instrument. No room here, too far at this time of the year, and so on. Besides, it's a pretty basic organ with non-programable combinations. It looks like a Smart Recorder or MIDI box on the top though.

As usual with FBM listings, there are NO DETAILS in the ad ! And of course, Not Enough Photos. After the last organ I located and acquired that was listed on FBM, I'm pretty burned out with trying to communicate with Stoopid People !
      Regards, Larry

      At Home : Yamaha Electones : EX-42 ( X 3 !!! ), E-5AR, FX-1 ( X 2 !! ), FX-20, EL-25 ( X 2 ). Allen 601D, ADC 6000D. Lowrey CH32-1. At Churches I play for : Allen Q325 ( with Vista ), Allen L123 ( with Navigator ). Rodgers 755. 1919 Wangerin 2/7 pipe organ.

Ah yes, you are right. Guess I did not look close enough. I might have looked up the specs if the model # was in the ad, as any potentially interested person would do. I'm still not one of those though.

Oh my. What a find. I believe it is an AP-4, and it would be W-5 MDS technology, perhaps Allen's finest tone generator system of all times. A genuine furniture-quality AGO 2m/32 pedal console, and those are real Allen-made wooden keys, not the cheaper Fatar keys found on later Protege models. Lighted tabs (Allen's unusual but very practical "Lumitech" concept--a tiny LED embedded in each tab rather than an old-fashioned light bulb. And fully settable combinations with seven general pistons and a second "B" memory, so you can store 14 combinations.

A little sparse on the features -- a single expression pedal, simple two-channel internal audio system. But man, what a steal. We sold one of these just 4 or 5 years ago, refurbished in our shop, for $7500. It wouldn't bring that much money today, MDS models now being more commonly available, but it's still a fine home organ. With a pair of external HC-15s it would make a marvelous organ in a small church. If I had a shop... and a truck...

I'd go but it would be 3 days for me RT, and I got stuck once in winter weather towing a loaded trailer, no more!

This is in my geographic area (relatively speaking) and I've been looking for a home practice instrument, so I messaged the seller. Seems too good to be true to me, but I suppose you never know. If I get a response, I'll share it in this thread for those who are curious.

I messaged the seller on Friday the 20th. I never received a response, and the listing now says "sold." I'm really curious what happened or who got it, although those are things we'll probably never know.

Wait until you see it in Florida. Parted out if no one can pay the several thousand dollar price. :-|
