  • Easier buxtehude

Obviously no buxtehude is easy as such but what are some his less taxing pieces for manual and pedal?
    Many Thanks!

Obviously "easier" is a relative term. If you want something with a simpler pedal part, his Toccata in F (BuxWV 157) is quite easy. There are a few measures with a more involved pedal part, but it is the pedal alone, which should make it easier for you. Also, you could play those few measures on the manual to simplify it. Here is a link to that piece from IMSLP: http://ks.imslp.net/files/imglnks/us...rgan_Works.pdf

I suggest that you look through his other works on that website. It is a treasure trove of music and a site worth supporting.

    Hope this is helpful.

I expect I can . cope, however the fugue like thing at the end looks harder, and it seems to be a G8 (abrsm) organ piece for some reason (however clearly stating with fugue)!

Define "easier" - BuxWV 208 (Nun bitten wir den heiligen Geist) isn't too complicated for the feet, but also not a beginner's piece.
    Have a look: https://imslp.org/wiki/Nun_bitten_wi...hude,_Dietrich)

Thanks, however too many too many use alto clef!

    Hi AD43,
As others have said, what is easy (for you). On IMSLP are ALL Buxtehude's works, if you look at the Hedar you can look at this and decide for yourself. Here is the link https://imslp.org/wiki/S%C3%A4mtlich...hude,_Dietrich) (maybe you found it yourself). Also no exotic clefs there.
Buxtehude is one of my personal favorites.

Thanks I will browse around myself, and it's quite shameful as an amateur cellist to not read alto clef.

Good luck with your search, AD43. I would like if you would post here which piece you choose, eventually.
