  • Nocturne for an Orange: Porter Heaps

There seem to be a few recordings floating around of Porter Heaps' 'Nocturne for an Orange' but I can't find a copy of the sheet music anywhere. Does anybody have a copy they'd be willing to part with or know where I might be able to source one, please?

    Many thanks.

What a find! That is apparently James Welch performing -- maybe he can help you. There are other mentions of the piece via google incl. at least one other performer.

Good idea; thank you! I've emailed and will see if I can find some other performers to ask. Odd that the music doesn't seem to be available anywhere, but I'm hoping I'll manage to find a copy.

There's a very strange vacuum of Porter Heaps culture online. I expected at least a stub in Wikipedia since it has articles on Ken Griffin*, Jimmy Smith et al. organ-biography.info says he studied with Dupré. Here we go:

*hahaa, Ken Griffin -- all his album covers featured pretty girls so we could only guess at his gender 'til the digital age ;-)
