It's the first message I post. I discovered this forum a week ago and I really thank you to allow organ lovers to ask questions and speak with people from all around the world : )

So, forst this first time, I have a simple question : I heard Simon Preston's "Alleluyas". I looked after the musicsheet or the publisher without result. So : does anyone know who publish this score of S. Preston ? I hope you can help me. But as I can see by reading your posts, I'm sure you do !

It may be published separately, but I play it from a collection called "Modern Organ Music book 1, Six Pieces by Comtemporary British Composers" Oxford University Press ISBN 0 19 375141 0

Bonjour. (I'm afraid this is the only French I know. I'm so sorry!) Preston's Alleluyas is included in the Augsburg Organ Library collection, the Autumn Volume. If no one comes forward with a separate score this is an easy to read printing, and I'm sure you'd find other pieces in the collection useful. I've enjoyed playing it. Best wishes!

Indeed, I found yesterday this "Alleluyas" included in the Augsburg Organ Album (on www.bodensee-musikversand.de/ which is one of the best site for music scores shopping). But I wondered if I could find it separately (this album costs 54 € : $ 68 and contains many composers I never heard about).

I'll take a look at OUP library, Pipecutter : thanks for your suggestion.

Thank you for your warm welcome !

P.S.: Soubasse32, I'm from Lille (northern France) and, yes, maybe our paths have crossed ; )

Most of the composers/arrangers in the Augsburg collection are known in the U.S.Lutheran/Episcopal circles. The pieces are moderately easyto moderately difficult. The collection contains many "classics" of organ literature, as well as both time honored and new settings of hymns, chorales and new compositions sung in worship. It's a great way to expand the library if you play in worship regularly, and don't have hours and hours to spend practicing or shopping for music. Most of the arrangements are well crafted and worth the collections cost. If interested I can share more about the composers, (their biographies are included in the collection. A nice addition.) Hope you find your score! Take care. [:)]
Soubasse32, I'm from Lille (northern France) and, yes, maybe our paths have crossed ; )
You are close to two wonderful organs, the one at St-Omer and the one at St-Pierre in Douai. [:)] Have you played them, or been to concerts there?

I have stayed in this place, perhaps you know it:

Good luck in your music search -if have to purchase that entire album, perhaps some of the music would be interesting. If it helps, I dorecognizea numberof the composers...
I never played these fabulous organs but I remember a concert given by O.Latry at St-Omer while I was very young (7 or 8 years old maybe), so I don't remember the program. But I can say that it's at this age that I fell in love with organ music : Latry, playing such a wonderful organ, is it possible not to fall in love ? ... [:)]

Concerning the music scores, I think I'll buy the organ album too. I'm impatient to discover new american composers !
