  • Looking for a pice of sheet music - Love Is A Five Letter Word, It's Jesus

I am looking for a piece of sheet music titled "Love is A Five Letter Word, It's Jesus". I believe it may have been written in the 1970's. I don't know who wrote it, I don't know what key it was written in. I have been searching for it and can not find it. I heard it sung one time and I liked it but was unable to find out anything about it except the title. If anyone knows where I can purchase a copy of it, I would greatly appreciate it. I am hoping it is still in print.

I found a bunch of recordings and music but I am not sure which of them is the one you're looking for. What type of music is this song? For organ? For SATB? Gospel?
"I play the notes as they are written (well, I try), but it is God who makes the music." - Johann Sebastian Bach
    Organs I Play:
    - Home: VPO Compiled from Allen 2110 parts
    - Church: M.P. Moller 1951 (Relocated 2015) 3 manual, 56 stop, 38 ranks (Opus 8152)

Then that JW Pepper should be it. Most of their music has audio recording but that one doesn't unfortunately.

Found this link from 22 November 2013.
https://www.tribstar.com/news/lifest...d5ad703c1.html from "The Tribune Star, serving Terre Haute and Wabash Valley," which seem to be in Indiana, USA.

Search for "letter" on that page and you'll also find this line from

    Seelyville United Methodist ...
    ...
"The choir, under the direction of Cathleen Flynn, will present the anthem “Love Is a Five-Letter Word, It's Jesus” by Robert Thygerson."

I found lists of his compositions but couldn't find that item. Perhaps it's out of print or was part of a cantata or something.

Thanks for the information. It looks like it is out of print. I will keep looking, maybe I'll get lucky, even on a used copy. Thanks for finding out more information on it than what I did.
