  • Rock & Roll: New Rock n Roll Hammond (Wurly etc) Record

So I play the keyboards for Rochester NY's Jon Lewis Band. For our most recent record, we flew out to LA to record at the just-opened Perfect Sound Frogtown Studio. We cut the entire record live in one day (and half a day for vocals). We're more proud of this record than any one we've done before, and I wanted to share it with some fellow Hammond nuts since I got the play the studio's B3+147, Wurlitzer 200A, and Steinway grand. We rented a Clavinet D6 for a couple of the tunes as well. Fun fact: the Steinway was just purchased from the former Sound Factory, and is the same piano you've heard on "Werewolves of London," "Summer Breeze" and countless other 70's LA records. Anyway, hope you enjoy the Jon Lewis Band's "Get Wild Somewhere"!

Great album! Especially like the organ on 'Charity', 'Find Peace', 'Maybe' and 'No No'.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was maybe the most fun I've ever had cutting a record, and I hope it shows.
