Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie to this forum. I don't play any musical instrument, though I am very keen on jazz and I have a good recommendation to anyone who likes jazz and especially hammond organs.

There's young Czech jazzman, Ondrej Pivec, a student of big jazz/hammond names such as Alberto Marsico, Mike Carr or Sam Yahel - and I guarantee he's really worth listening to.... :) In 2005, he established a jazz band called Ondrej Pivec ORGANIC Quartet, with himself playing the hammonds (B-3, Clavia Nord C1 and
KeyB duo), and his bandmates Tomas Hobzek (drums), Jakub Dolezal (sax),
and Libor Smoldas (guitar). They are a very pleasant and charming band
to listen to - if you have couple of spare minutes, take a look at http://www.ondrejpivec.com/index.php...en&show=cd
where you can find more info about the band, their newly released CD
Overseason recorded in New York with Joel Frahm and Jake Langley, and
about their tours - and, of course, listen to some of the tracks from their CDs!!! :)

They can be seen for example on the Getxo Festival in Spain during
July 8-12, where they have been chosen out of almost 50 other competing
bands - good work. They also won several international competitions,
and Ondrej Pivec was chosen as the organist of the month October 2006
by the international archives for the jazz organ - now that's a reason
to keep eye on him

I hope you will like them! If you ever travel to Czech Republic /
Prague, you should definitely go for them - their concerts really are a
charming experience!
