  • My new project console!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post some pictures of my new organ project. I picked up this console yesterday and I plan to convert it to digital using MIDIBox and controlling Hauptwerk. It will eventually replace my church's current ancient Rodgers. This console is from a 1957 Kilgen Pipe organ. If anyone has any experience working with the Kilgen consoles, I would greatly appreciate any knowledge that you could pass along. I think that I may be able to figure out the moving drawknob mechanism and wire it to work with MIDIBox. If I am off my rocker in that notion, please correct me! All in all I think the console is in great shape and I think it will be a great project!

    All thoughts are welcome!

that looks like an ideal Hauptwerk console! Keep us posted on reusing those drawknobs..I'm considering a similar project (but for pipes not MIDI). :)

The console reminds me of the old Kilgen bohemouth we replaced at my church a few years ago. Wish I'd thought then to offer it up for someone to convert. It ended up being pieced out and the rest dumped. I much prefer the concept of recycling! Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm not sure how Hauptwerk works exactly, but I'm sure there's a way to send a midi message out for stop on and stop off. You'd just use DOUTs to drive them, assigning pins to midi messages in the midio128.ini file, just like you would for the DINs.

Just make sure you keep this --->http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.p...758.0.html<--- in mind the whole time.
