  • First 32' Organ Reed

Does anyone know when the first 32' reed was used in a pipe organ? If so, what instrument?

I would guess that it may have been me, or my friend the Bombarde.

      Or maybe a Contrabasson.

The first full 32" Dom Bedos quote in his book is: "Pedale de Flutes" , saying it was preferable to be arranged on pedals as a full stop and only partly or not at all on the "Montre" because of those days blower's wind inefficiencies and the lack of space on some installations.

I hope this is related, as I am blown away just now by that amazing publication at the eve of the French Revolution.
