  • Organ console from Rodgers pipe organ at Second Baptist Houston on eBay

Here's a very interesting one! This is for the five manual Rodgers pipe organ that was a common sight in ads for the company into the 1990s

I wonder if this means they are getting rid of the pipe organ? As far as I know, the church has moved primarily to a contemporary worship style. Age-wise, the organ would be approaching the need for releathering, as it is 28 years old.

I believe they were electro-mechanical action, therefore no leathers. Of course, there are the reservoirs and perhaps some pneumatics in the actions for the large pipes.

The console was replaced by an Infinity 484.

Is the pipe organ still there, just controlled by the new Rodgers?

I had wondered if that was the console from Second Baptist of Houston. That console is as impressive as the one from Carnegie Hall that they are asking about five times as much for.

My home organ is a Theatre III with an MDS II MIDI Expander.
