  • Wardrobe size home practice organ VS pedal basso continuo

    Hello,

If both of them in a good condition, have two manuals, same stops (8' and 4' on each manual) and price are similar. which one you prefer?

I think a wardrobe size home practice organ have louder sound, but a pedal basso continuo have a lighter touch?

    Thank you!

As some one who has worked on many tiny organs like this; bigger is better. The smaller and more compact organs are, the more difficult they are to work on and therefore more expensive to maintain and less likely they will be in good working order and good tune.

As far as touch goes, I would assume that for a small instrument, built by a good builder, both options should have a light touch.

If you have the space, and neighbours / housemates who don't get easily annoyed, take the larger one. At least I would. But I don't have the space for a lovely instrument like this.
