  • Restoration of St. Pauls, London

I have read in the London Organ concerts guide that the organin St. Paul's Cathedral will be restored soon, however, I may have misunderstood this like I always do; I didn't think it was in need of a restoration.

Huh? That's news to me. But then again, I just may be totally out of the loop. Not the first time...[;)]

In the current edition of Organists' Review, an interview with Malcolm Archer revealsthat Manders are to do a conservative restoration of the organ to include a mobile console which can be located under the dome for recitals and educational workshops. It is hoped that during this restoration, the organ will not go out of commission.

Within the last year Mander himself mentioned on his Website-forum that somrthing tonal was under consideration in the Dome section but at that time did not elaborate any further.
