So how does Hauptwerk actually work?

Is this a special program that allows one to have a virtual organ? Is this for use on a home computer with I presume a Midi compatible keyboard? Is this thing expensive?

So...... Does anyone know of any virtual pipe organ for OS X? Or do I just have to survive with loading sub-par soundfonts into Garageband?

I've messed around with JOrgan on OS X. It's free, customizable, open source, and comes with a large bank of sounds. The sounds aren't the best, but they're okay for being free. You can find it on Sourceforge.net

May I ask where you put the soundfont files so that they would play through jOrgan? I can only seem to play it using the General MIDI voices. (yuk!)

I'm trying to install the Theatre organ soundfonts (corg_c111.sfark, etc.)

You Might try the The JEUX SoundFont which can now be


downloaded from the HammerSound pages.

I have that, and numerous others. They play fine in Garageband, but no sound comes from jOrgan, because I cant find a "Bank 26" to place them in.
