  • small organ compass

I have decided to build a small chamber organ with a 49 note manual. my problem is that I am not sure whether it should be two octaves above middle C and two below, or three above an one below. can anyone help me out on this one?

    Why not G to G?

Two octaves each side of Middle C gives you the basic Bach keyboard, and would work for most rep., especially earlier. C-D-E gets used quite a bit by Bach, so I wouldn't just go down to G.

        Ditto.

A large part of the literature is written for this compass.
