EVENHEETERS pipe organ chamber temperature system [pics] ( on ebay now) brochure

ATT. MODERATOR, don't relocate this. Prefer it be here for posterity and interest relevance .
    ------------------

My brother is a heating and cooling systems software engineer. He designed the internet maintained control systems for the HVAC units his company installed in the OHIO THEATER, as well as the refined system for the pipe organ chambers on both sides of the theater for the Robert Morton theater organ ( the original organ btw.). He showed me one day at his house, not long after the job was finished, how he could press a few key strokes on his laptop and probably throw the organ out of tune on the other side of town. I guess we've come a long way since the EVENHEETERS, but if they worked they worked, right? Please add your experiences with such heaters if you have any.

The Ebay seller writes in their ad-

This original 1920's advertising folder is for Evenheeters, electric heating systems for pipe organ chambers, made by the Cramblet Engineering Corp. of Milwaukee. The condition of this original 11" x 8.5" folder is good except for punched holes.

Years ago the Wangerin Organ Company used to install steam radiators in their pipe galleries. The problem was the radiators would leak, and cause all types of damage to the instrument that was not detected since regular inspections of pipe galleries are usually limited to several times per year.

It's oft been said that a well designed organ should not need any supplemental heating inside the chamber / case. One good thing about the Organ Reform Movement was getting organs out of poorly heated chambers and into cases. True, but too often builders do the same blasted things that they did in the early 20th century. We service one fairly new organ which gives us fits. The builder put it in "half cases" - the cases are made up of only two sides. The back and one side are the un-insulated building walls, facing south. There are two cases on opposite sides of a window. You could tune the thing every day and it would still never be in tune despite the fact that we installed fans to bring in heated / cooled sanctuary air. We are thinking of installing something like the Evenheeters. Meanwhile there is an organ we built a couple years ago that we have scheduled for a tuning this week. We last tuned it in November - November 2015. It's entirely encased and no where near an exterior wall.
