Check the credits to the movie. I know they picture a church as the scene starts, but am not sure that's the same church the organ's in. There may be something in the end credits.

I'll check my version to see if I can find it.

      Hope this helps.

That is a neat looking organ. I watched the movie recently with my parents. The sound seemed somewhat digital. I suspect it's not the organ you're looking at. Also the reverb sounded digital to me as I recall. Typical Hollywood. Good looks, but unrealistic sound.

EDIT: I remember paying attention to the stops as they came out (he used pistons only) and of course they weren't consistent with the sound produced. During the loudest section, it shows the Dulciana stop coming out! Idiots. LOL.

I hope the organist got a good telling off for:

          1. Leaving the church unlocked
          2. Leaving the organ unlocked
          3. Leaving the organ on!!!!

It may have been a leathered Dulcianna Magna en Chamade

you've gotta be ******** me.....yeah and on 20" just like RHJ ocean grove but with a very small metal toe hole

i noticed the Dulciana and Unda Maris stops among others coming on when it sounded like mixtures....also it cut to the stops coming out twice... maybe once for unison and twice for octave????

Dulciana Magna en Chamade a contradiction in terms like the CIA....

now that has to be one of hope jones's experimental stops that got thrown in the dumpster then rescued....if they are really mounted like that and it is not the camera angle....my congratulations...even I did not come up with that one in my wildest dreams on organ voicing....

i have dug deeper and found out that the organ in the church is an old casavant that got a new console, switching system, and facade....the organ that we are all hearing is an old allen R-405.... NOT Quantum belonging to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

                    Hi FrenchHorn 8

You have just made my day so much better  < ; - D  with the Dulciana en Chamade.

Maybe you can help me understand what a Gamba Tuba w/ Gamba Tuba Celeste is - A "Stringy" Tuba???

                    Cheers,

a gamba tuba was Emerson Richards take on Haskell's Labial Tuba. I have herd it and it sounds like a dark english tuba but then it has just a hint of stringiness....to me it is a very advanced Horn Diapason or could be used as an 8' extention of a diaphone....

it should speak on high wind pressure ~15"...

Hollywood has never been one for getting everything in a movie authentic. Look at all the anachronistic ships in WWII naval battle movies (look at the 4 Spruance class destroyers in "Pearl Harbor")!!!

BTW, how could you tell by the sound, from YouTube no less, whether it was pipe or digital? I've seen clips on there that sound like a $20 toykeyboard, when I know it's the actual pipe organ playing.

                        Regards,
                        Gary

I think I saw a film or a television drama where a person was seen playing on a large three manual pipe organ but the soundtrack was a crappy plastic Hammond...I was incredulous.
