I've a question on the 16' double diapason & 16' echo diapason.
How's these two pipes structures different from the 16' diapason pipes that enables the different sounds produced? I have tried to google for some info, but don't seem to be able to get any.
Scaling. Two pipes of identical construction and of the same length but different diameters (thicknesses) will sound somewhat different. The idea is to get a contrast of sound level and quality but not too much of a contrast. The actual construction (structures) of the Echo variant will be identical to the main Double Diapason (or 8' Diapason) but a given length of a pipe in the Echo rank will be visibly thinner than the corresponding pipe of the exact same length in the Double Diapason rank.
