Covington, Georgia, First United Methodist, (Photos and video of Jay Mitchell demo'ing the organ)
Was down thru Atlanta where I visited with Jay Mitchell (and had lunch with Tim Young as well!) Sunday afternoon Jay was kind enough to demonstrate the organ at First United Methodist, in Covington, GA (just outside Atlanta).

Nice presentation John and Jay. The organ has such a nice vintage sound, even with all the new pipe work. Would trade almost anything [;)] for the flute celeste and voix!!! Atlanta AGO enjoyed hearing this instrument last spring. Great job Jay! Now if the carpet was just gone.

What a lovely organ at First United Methodist. I especially liked the reeds and the vox. The clarinet was sweet.
It's been a while since we've taken a vacation, but we've been in Georgia at least three times to my recollection, and each time I was in awe of the beautiful architecture of the churches in the South and the organs inside. I didn't know about the Organ Forum back then, so I never knew you guys. I hope that the next time we go down there, I can actually meet you and see an organ or two!

Once our room's finished, and the organ complete (hopefully by March 09), there's an open console invitation to you. To others in the forum as well. After all, an organ is meant to be seen, heard, and enjoyed by all, right?

Don't count yourself out yet. We'll see what develops. Perhaps there will be some hosting involved. I think another thread mentioned having forum members come for a visit!
