Anyone have any pics of Riversides 32' Gamba with the papflex (or whatever it was) extending the pipes length?

Has anyone done this with ABS or PVC pipe?

the curators bufano the late and now pearce allow people in selectively to look around not like wnamaker that has special days for that

the 32 is a metal diapason 16 with flexaust rubber hose extending the length to 32 ft

      swann demoed it for me

      sounded nice and soft

said it was for fast pedal passages in oratorios thus on the swell manual at 32ft

could I throw some flexaust on top of one of my 8' diapasons to make them a 16' Gambe? :)

Correction: Riverside's curator is Robert Pearson.

I used to play on an organ that had several pipes like this. It was destroyed in a fire, sadly. I have forgotten where this organ was located. Somewhere in Upstate New York...

[/quote]How about fastening the open end in a frame that can be vertically moved up or down and clamped into place; the corrugations would allow for enough vertical motion to adjust the length to pitch. If you were really tricky, you could make the adjustment via motor-driven screws and could actually tune it from the console!

I don't think the flex is stable lengthwise so why not use the flex to connect to say 4"-6" dia ABS pipe, several 90 degrees to form a miter going down along the pipe and maybe up again, secured to the pipe itself. Is a haskell maybe a simpler solution? But ABS drain pipe is cheap and with glued elbows it should be stable. The pipe usually comes in 10' lengths. You could route the lengths anywhere, horizontally in the attic or bury in the backyard.Could you then stopper it and get a 64' sound? Is there any limit here besides the space and air requirements? I don't think it would be pretty but the sound might be awsome.

My home organ is a Theatre III with an MDS II MIDI Expander.
I also have an MDC 10 Theatre spinet.

On that note, I suppose you could coil the hoseand suspend it over the organist. It would give the impression of a very large bee-hive hairdo.

Not being an organ design engineer, wouldn't a standard full length 32' Gamba be about as fast given the same scale and wind pressure? Or just use different metal alloy?[^o)]

when the riverside organ spec was initially published the gamba 32 was not included

                              was an afterthought

no room for full length in the swell box
