  • Contact Pin Lubrication

When working on pipe organs, I often come across 61 note P eterson connectors. They can be difficult to unplug and just as difficult to plug back in. It always feels as if something is going to break.
I'd welcome any suggestions as to what cleaner/lubricant I should use to make the job easier. These products come up when I Google the problem.

Bachmann Trains E-Z Lube Conductive Contact Lube

CAIG DeoxIT Pot & Switch Cleaner

    CAIG DeoxIT Fader F5

Contact Cleaner with Electronic Grade Silicones

    PERMATEX Grease Dielectric Tune-up

    Vaseline

The residual lubrication properties of the product are my main concern.

I use Deoxit D5 for corroded sockets such as can be found in tube equipment, and I use CRC Contact Cleaner for edge connectors. The CRC product leaves no reside behind.

Maybe ask Peterson what they would recommend: http://www.petersonemp.com/
