I joined this website for the organ, but I am more of an accordionist than organ player so it was nice to see this forum!
I was wondering if any of you guys have any local accordion groups or have any idea of how many accordionists are in your area. I live in the Tidewater region of Virginia and we have Accordion Renaissance led by Jim Rice and Ina Yakubeika where about 10 of us accordionists get together and play (though that has been put on hold because of COVID). Jim estimates that there are about 50-100 accordionists total in Virginia so I was curious what the stats are in your areas.
The numbers of accordionists in America have been going way down in recent years so it would be interesting to hear who's left or any groups that around though I know there are hobbyists here and there.
