Reassembled the Kimball project early this morning. As first attempts go I am quite pleased. Does not seem to require an inordinate amount of pumping (bellows reinflate time is about 4 min.) but I have no baseline to work from so assume it's OK. The case of this organ did not require much work beyond a good oiling. The subbase reeds in this instrument were a dog's breakfast of mismatched and mis-tuned salvage from what I can tell. Jim Tyler has found a set of Kimball originals for me so I'll slide those in when they arrive. All the other ranks are original and correct except for one reed. The only real 'defect' is that the high treble E was broken. I have a grab-bag of of reeds but they are all A452 tuning while the Kimball is A435. I got one of the 452's as close as possible but really need to find a 435. Otherwise everything works and plays as it should. Knee boards are fun! Obligatory pics attached and much thanks to people on this site for all the help and advice.
I am now going to tackle my $25 M&H Style 431 which looks like a different ball game. Will post progress as it occurs.
