  • George Bent "Crown"

As I'm waiting for my George Woods, I thought I'd ask for comments on this Crown organ I've found locally.

I haven't heard back from the seller, and can't quite read all those stop names.

General question: is this Bent "Crown" instrument something that's desirable and well made? or are they known to be "average", poorly built and difficult to maintain?

Many forum references are to "five octave" and "six octave" manuals. This organ has five octaves (F-F) plus several more treble notes. Is that also called a "five octave" manual?

And to show my total naivete - is a "sub bass" the same as a "bass coupler"? (I have to admit, I do like that big rich "double bass" sound at times.) Never mind - just found out. Two different things, so I'll stick with sub-bass (a separate set of reeds).

There are *many* Bent instruments in the ROS database; I can't tell which model this one corresponds to.

    Thanks.
    Tom M.
