  • Exhauster refurb?

I've been told by several forum folk that my 1874 George Woods has "harmonium style" exhausters. I assume that's because they have cardboard sides with leather gussets.

Jim Tyler says those are "problematic to repair". Couldn't I just replace those sides using the same rubber cloth as for the reservoir/bellows?

    Thanks.

I have made spot repairs to them (like replacing the worn-out gusset leathers) and built them from scratch. The difference is cost of materials, the leather ain't cheap, the rubber cloth is, relatively speaking. There will be some loss in efficiency.
