  • Any advice for a beginner?

Ive always wanted a reed organ and finally got one not too long ago. I can play a little bit of songs on it at the moment but im still learning. Is there any general advice or tips that would be helpful for a total beginner?Click image for larger version

Hi Amber. Other than the printed instruction books for reed organ, take a look at Rodney Jantzi's video instruction series "Reeding 101"

    Here's an example:

Also, here's a link to an old manual for new reed organ players.

You can buy the hard copy book on Amazon.

    Hope this helps.

A tip that may sound silly but is actually a very good one: When "parking" the organ after playing, always close all the stops (push all the stops in). That prevents any unwanted foreign matter from entering cavities exposed by the open stops. You have already received the links and pointers towards more information.

      My two-bits worth. Luck!
