It is a heavy beast. Here is a blog I started called Electronic Organs inside and Out. I gave a how-to on lightening up a Wurlitzer 625t for moving. I'm sure the 805 is very similar and you can probably use my blog info as a guide for making your 805 easier to move. Here is my blog- uh' now what was it...
try- electronicorgans.blogspot.com actually here is the exact how-to link on the blog, http://electronicorgans.blogspot.com...n-without.html
Good luck! It's a great organ so I hope you are having it moved to your house where you can play it. You will find that the Wurlitzer sound is without a doubt the most easy to gravitate to of all organ tones. It just sounds right all the time, never compromised. Wurlitzer tibia (flute) is a smoother tone than Hammond, neither better nor worse, it just is what it is. Wurlitzer tibia is the closest sound to a Hammond organ tone when being driven through a Leslie and you will find that the Wurlitzer can pretty much get a Hammond smooth upper register sound without a Leslie horn and this is why the Wurlitzer was so successful with the Spectratone (two spinning 4" speakers & electronically modulated bass in sync). In the early 70's Wurlitzer stopped selling the expensive to produce Spectratones, but you can always find them on Ebay. Since the Wurlitzer tibia can reach a smooth upper register tremulent without a fast spinning Leslie horn Wurlitzer CEO's opted to go with an 8" internal Leslie on their home organs.Wurlitzer '46' Model 31 Orgatron & 310 rotary cab, 56' 4410 , 65' 4300

I need a little more help
Thank you for your replies and the blog. Who is Punch and Judy and how do I contact? I can't even find a Wurlitizer manufaturer site - does anyone know it?
As it turns out I may have to pay someone to move it. I put it in craiglist free and several answered but now I have to tell them it weighs 390 pounds. It has to be moved down 2 flights of stairs. Not a good situation.

Wurlitzer was purchased decades ago and the brand was retired. Parts and manual support is available from Morelock's organ service of rienzi, mississippi. They can be reached through mitatechs.org.
The first part of moving an organ involves removing the music rack, and the pedal unit. Mine had electrical connectors on the pedal unit which I had to pry out with a screwdriver. When I moved my Wurlitzer 4500 I found it useful to slide it on this slippery plastic sheet: http://www.mcmaster.com/#8752K611 I removed the pre-broken flimsy legs, and replaced them with steel angle iron (bed frame rails) in a triangular structure to support the leg mount point and keep the angle from folding under when the organ tried to fall. Mine was quite top heavy and tippy with the legs broken.
I bound it with a car hauling strap, made a loop of rope, and winched it up the stairs with a porta-pull tool. I use a pipe through an interior door for a pull point, with phone books against the wall to prevent scars. One person has to keep the organ from tipping, the other can operate the pulling tool. There were several log chains between the porta-pull and the chain around the pipe 30' away.
In the past one hired crews of 4 hefty men to move organs and pianos on a piano board, but this is a very expensive operation these days. There are people advertising on craigslist etc with somewhat reasonable prices, but Louisville is market with high unemployment. Considering the worth of the organ ($25) in an unrestored condition, it is not hardly worth hiring professionals except to prevent damage to the building. I intend to restore my Wurli 4500, which should cost about $100 in aging parts (electrolytic capacitors, rubber rotary speaker drive components) and a couple of hundred hours of my labor. Transistorized (no IC's) Wurlitzers tend to respond well to re-e-capping because the key contacts are precious metal and the interconnections are substantial.
Hope you find a buyer or hobbiest. If you want to elicit interest through this website, putting your location on your personal details is a basic requirement. There are members here on 3 continents and two major islands, and the organs do not transport economically over long distances. To do so, click forum actions at the top, and edit your profile with continent, country and perhaps district or major city. Then watch this site for private messages from interested parties at the top as you sign on. Do not put your e-mail address in public, provide it only to people who respond with sensible questions (showing they are not spambots).city Hammond H-182 organ (2 ea),A100,10-82 TC, Wurlitzer 4500, Schober Recital Organ, Steinway 40" console , Sohmer 39" pianos, Ensoniq EPS, ; country Hammond H112
