    Buying my first organ...

    Hi everybody!
    I'm looking to buy my first home organ...I've done my grade 8 piano, and am working towards my ATCL, and I've been playing though the manual parts from a lot of Bach's preludes and fugues, and Widor's Toccata in F, and I want to be able to do them justice, with the right sounds and the pedal parts.
    I took organ lessons a while a go, but being at boarding school I couldn't practice/have lessons, so I had to quit.
    I have no idea where to start, and I was hoping you guys might be able to help a girl out!
    I know I want a model with 25-32 pedals, I'm not too fussed about the number of manuals, but 2 would be nice.
    My parent were going to buy me a keyboard for my 18th to take to uni, and I was going to ask them for this instead, so I have a very limited budget, possibly £1000 as an absolute max budget...

    Any help or advice would be massively appreciated! Thanks :)

    I'm going to move this to the Electronic Classical Organ section, where it will get more attention. Although you want an organ for home use, 'Home Organs' is intended for entertainment type instrument.

      Don't know the U.K. market but in general I would point you to research what church organs are being retired most in your area. Speak to several church organists and hopefully someone will add other pointers to this post. Here in the U.S. if I were looking for a great budget organ for serious organ music I'd hope to find a Conn. We have some old tube driven 720's that make a nice practice organ and that was followed by the 721 when transistor circuits were used. Both have had a long history of service in the church and concert hall with a curved and radiating 32 note pedalboard. Here prices are extremely low on these beauties.
