I don't think a Hammond was used on the recording. If memory serves the keyboard player used a Farfisa with a Fender bass keyboard sitting on top. In the studio the bass was played by Doug Lubhan but Ray Manzarek played bass with his left hand and whatever organ parts with his right.Hammond A-101

Yeah, see PBS "Ed Sullivan show rock & Roll" clips, that they run in begathon season. No guarentee anybody was actually playing on the Ed Sullivan show, some bands are obviously lip syncing. But that console organ Manzarek plays was a grey tweed box. Sullivan's house organ was a Hammond with an actual pedal board; you can see some musicians resting their feet flat on it in multiple pedals during some "performances".city Hammond H-182 organ (2 ea),A100,10-82 TC, Wurlitzer 4500, Schober Recital Organ, Steinway 40" console , Sohmer 39" pianos, Ensoniq EPS, ; country Hammond H112

You [I]can[I] make a caricature-likeness of a combo organ on a Hammond. I like to use 75 7876 687 on the upper manual and play an octave high, Leslie stopped. On my M3's lower manual i'll use 7876 6876, since that last drawbar with the red dot seems to create a better harmonic blend. Won't ever come close to the square-wave Vox sound, but no one's complained to me yet.
