BV preamp gain???

I can't find where to adjust the preamp gain on a BV. Is there an adjustment?? All I see is the screw to adjust tone. Also, the vibrato sounds reeealy ugly. It's still there and working but it sounds weak and chopped up. Delay line caps? Thanks!

There is no gain control on the BV preamp. There is no volume control on a B-3 preamp either. It's a preamp feedback control that people use as a volume control.

There is a set of resistors inside the expression pedal housing. By connecting the preamp to a different resistor, you can get different gain settings. Usually it's already on the loudest setting (in my experience) and the preamp is simply weak.

Scanner could need rebuilding, or it could be a bad tube, or the preamp itself.
